The Alliant Energy Login portal also known as “My Account” is a web self-service tool where you can view and pay your bill, view up to 13 months of energy usage and manage your account information. To enroll, you will need your Alliant Energy account number and Tax Identification Number.

Not only that, but your Alliant Energy Login helps you simplify your Alliant Energy account so that you can spend your energy on things that matter. Once you register and log in to your account, you can pay your bill with a credit or debit card, view if your home or business is without power, setup high usage alerts, view your energy use, down to the hour etc.

How To Enroll In My Account

My Account is a secure and convenient online self-service tool. Use it to view and pay your bill, see your payment history and energy usage and to manage your account information. When you enroll in my Account, you will have a secure access to the following online account management tools:

1: Choose paperless billing: It’s a simple way to cut down on clutter. Save paper and save time. Get your statement instantly instead of waiting for it to arrive in the mail. No need to file bills. All your statements are stored online in one convenient digital location.

2: Track your energy use: Compare hourly, daily or monthly usage and watch your progress. By keeping an eye on your energy, you can manage your usage more efficiently and find ways to save.

3: Get alerts and notifications: Stay in the know about billing, outages and high energy usage. Always know when an outage occurs or your energy use goes up. Alerts and notifications keep you up to date on your energy use and your bill.

4: Pay bills online: Check the status of your payment. Pay by credit card or debit card, with no fees. Or set up Automatic Payment. Pay your bill instantly online or enroll in autopay and never worry about missing a payment. It’s just another way enrolling in My Account makes it easy to manage your energy.

Enrollment is simple, just find the app on Google Play or the App Store or go to https://myaccount.alliantenergy.com/Portal/CustomerRegistrations.aspx and enter the required information.

My Account passwords must:

  • Be between 6-15 characters long
  • Include at least one lowercase and one uppercase letter
  • Contain no spaces
  • Include at least one number, one letter and a special character
  • Be different than your User ID

To sign in, go to https://myaccount.alliantenergy.com/Portal/default.aspx

  1. In Username, type the username ID that you selected when you signed up for online accoumt.
  2. In Password, type your password.
  3. Click Log In.

2: Online guest payment: Curious about online payment but tired of juggling passwords? Keep reading.

You can pay your Alliant Energy bill online without setting up an account or password. It’s called online guest payment. Just like writing a check, you choose the amount you pay and when to pay it. Unlike writing a check, you get instant confirmation that your payment was received, and there’s no delay time in the mail. You choose whether the payment comes from your bank account or a credit card (no fees).

3: Mobile app: Don’t let your to-do list keep you from what’s important. The Alliant Energy Mobile App lets you stay on top of your account – then quickly get back to what matters.

4: Electronic payment options for business: Streamline paying your Alliant Energy bill through automated clearing house (ACH). This fast, easy option requires a one-time setup process using a CCD+ or CTX file format with remittance information.

5: Pay by text: You can also text Alliant Energy to pay your bill! Here’s how.

  • Step 1 – Enroll in My Account (if you haven’t already) to set up your payment information.
  • Step 2 – Enroll in Text to Pay

Log into My Account and select Billing at the top.  On the menu on the left side, select Text to Pay. Enter your preferred phone number and select a stored payment method. Agree to the terms and select Enroll. You will get a confirmation text at the number you entered.

  • Step 3 – Confirm and pay your bill.

Check your device for a verification text from Alliant Energy (255255). Follow the steps to verify.  You’re all set to pay by text! When you’re ready, simply text PAY to 255255. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency may vary.

Other Ways to Make Your Alliant Energy Bill Payment

1: Pay by mail: Alliant Energy offer several convenient electronic payment methods, but you can also pay your bill through the mail.

The return envelope they provide is bar-coded for faster delivery, so please do not use this envelope for other correspondence. If you misplace the return envelope, mail your check AND bill stub to:

Please do not send cash or any correspondence in the payment envelope. Alliant Energy cannot be held liable for missing cash payments or crediting to your account record.

To make sure your check is processed quickly and accurately, do not staple anything to the payment stub or check. Please include your account number with your payment.

If you need to know how much you owe or when we received your payment, you can view your account information online or with the Alliant Energy mobile app using My Account. It takes just a few minutes to enroll, and you’ll have access to your current balance and 36 months of payment and bill history.

If you cannot pay your bill in full by the due date, enroll in My Account to set up a payment arrangement or contact Alliant Energy at 1-800-255-4268.

2: Western Union Convenience Pay: Take your bill and cash, check or money order to a nearby participating Western Union Convenience Pay agent location. You will receive a transaction receipt once your transaction has been completed.

Western Union Convenience Pay payments are posted to your account within two business days. If you are paying due to a disconnect notice, call their Customer Service Center at 1-800-ALLIANT (800-255-4268) with your Western Union Convenience Pay confirmation number so they can note it on your account

Where is my nearest Western Union Convenience Pay agent outlet? Agent outlets are conveniently located in many stores. To find one near you, use Western Union’s Convenience Pay location look-up tool or call them at 1-800-551-8001.

The fee to process a transaction is just $1.25. The transaction fee is charged by Western Union Convenience Pay to cover fees and costs associated with handling payments up to $2,500.

3: Speedpay: Alliant Energy is part of the Speedpay network. If you’re used to paying bills with Speedpay, you can add Alliant Energy as a biller. Fees apply for Iowa customers.

Note: Why pay fees when you don’t have to? There’s no fees when you use Alliant Energy’s instant online payment or My Account.

To use Speedpay over the phone: 
Call 1-877-429-4126 and follow the voice instructions. 

To use Speedpay online:
Use your Alliant Energy account number to log in to the online Speedpay system

4: Third-party payment: Your financial institution may offer a third-party bill pay service. Many financial institutions offer electronic payment services to their customers. Check with your bank for more details.

5: Pay by phone: Pay your bill over the phone with a bank account. Call Alliant Energy Customer Service Center at 1-800-ALLIANT (800-255-4268) and say “Make a payment” to avoid waiting on hold.
